“Hagia Dimitri Greek Church is located in the Kurtuluş (Tatavla) district of Şişli district of Istanbul. It is not yet known in which year it was built, but in sources written at the end of the 16th century, it is mentioned that there was a church in this very area. There is a marble inscription on the outer wall of the Hagia Dimitri Greek Church, and it is written that the church underwent important repairs in 1726. It is said that the garden walls of the church were built in 1720, and other important additions were built in 1751-1754 and 1798. The bell tower of the church, which is still used, dates back to 1857. The church bell in question was rebuilt in 1955. In addition, there is a cemetery in the garden of Hagia Dimitri Greek Church that was used until 1865.” Google maps has it as a Greek Orthodox Church.
